Carnelian

Carnelian is the red/orange form of chalcedony and is used to still the blood and calm the temper. The Romans believed that dark carnelian represented the male and light carnelian the female. Carnelian is associated with the sacral chakra and as such is also linked with healthy sexual functioning.

Rose Quartz

Perhaps the most popular healing stone

Rose quartz is credited with releasing excess fluids and impurities from the body as such it helps with problems of the kidneys and adrenal glands. It diminishes burns and relieves blistering. Psychologically rose quartz promotes peace and is a comforting warm stone which can be used to heighten self esteem. Rose quartz also reduces stress and tension. For best results rose quartz is best worn in an open backed piece of jewellery to allow the healing energies to reach the skin. As rose quartz is associated with the heart chakra an ideal way of wearing this stone is as a necklace or pendant.

Amethyst

A member of the Quartz family

Amethyst is crystalline Quartz in the shades of purple, lilac or mauve.
Amethyst is the Birthstone of Pisces and Sagittarius and is the stone of wisdom and understanding, it also aids meditation.
Amethyst's healing powers are for headaches, insomnia, pulmonary conditions and anxiety. Traditionally Amethyst is worn to guard against drunkenness and to instil a serious mind (should you want one!). In classical mythology Amethyst was formed by the tears of Dionysus, the god of wine, falling upon rock crystal. Amethyst has distinctive striped inclusions like tiger stripes or feathers. Amethyst is associated with the crown chakra

A stunning pair of Goddess earrings Each earring has a symbolic Goddess reaching up and holding onto a cut amethyst The colour of the amethyst is quite breath-taking- it is quite a deep purple and is accentuated by the cut The Goddess has no features or definition to her so She can represent whichever Goddess you feel most drawn to. The earring measures just under 3 and a half cm from the top of the stone to the base of the Goddess. Amethyst is a protective stone and is perfect as a stone in jewellery. It promotes love of the divine and gives insight into the true meaning. These earrings will be spiritually cleansed before being carefully wrapped in acid-free tissue and sent off to you!

This beautiful pendant portrays the Goddess with arms uplifted holding onto a large cut amethyst. It is in 925 silver and measures 5.5 cm including the bale. The amethyst is oval in shape - measuring 1.1 cm (just about half an inch) at the widest part. The figure of the Goddess is quite solid and the garnet above is encircled by a band of silver but open at the back to accentuate the cut of the stone and to allow the healing properties through to the body. The Goddess is symbolic in shape with no definition to legs or with facial features - she can represent whichever Goddess you feel most drawn to. This pendant will be cleansed spiritually before being wrapped and sent and if you would like it can be blessed - just let us know!

Astrological Tables (Chinese)

As nearly everyone knows Chinese astrological belief is organized with reference to 12 animals. A Chinese legend attributes the creation of these animal signs to the, perhaps, mythical Yellow Emperor in 2637 BCE. Another legend is that the Lord Buddha summoned all the animals to come to him before he departed the Earth. Only 12 animals came to bid him farewell. As a reward he named a year after each of them in the order that they arrived. This gives the (cyclic) order Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and finally Pig.

You can find the animal of your birth year from the chart below, and from it your birthstone, as the Chinese would say, "This is the animal that hides in your heart".
